In a world buzzing with lattes, espressos, and all of their coffee-coated cousins, the lowly tea leaf can get overlooked. If coffee is the outgoing party person of the beverage world, then tea is the laid-back listener chillin’ on a lounge chair. Lipton has that very theory in mind with its new “Be More Tea” campaign.
“Lipton wants to inspire consumers to ‘look up’ and take in all that life has to offer while enjoying what you may have otherwise missed,” said Alfie Vivian, vice-president of refreshments for Unilever. “This is what ‘Be More Tea’ means to Lipton and the philosophy we will bring to life in our new national ad campaign starring the Muppets.”
The “Be More Tea” campaign marks the first time that the Lipton brand has introduced one global positioning worldwide.
The “Be More Tea” campaign kicked off during the Academy Awards in a 60-second spot featuring the Muppets as they prepare for their upcoming movie “Muppets Most Wanted.” Created and produced by adam&eveDDB, London, the ad highlights the spirit of “Be More Tea” with the playfulness, fun, and irreverent entertainment of the Muppets.
“Making movies and dating Miss Piggy can be stressful – especially the dating part. But I always try to stay cool and look on the bright side,” said Kermit the Frog. “That’s what this Lipton campaign is all about. In a world filled with high-stress wild-in-the-street types like Animal, you have to take time to enjoy life and ‘Be More Tea.”
Lipton is part of the large family of Unilever food, home, and personal care products available all over the world. Brand icons include Ben & Jerry’s, Breyers, Country Crock, Dove, Fruttare, Klondike, Pond’s, Popsicle, Slim-Fast, St. Ives, and many many more. Notice the tasty brands I chose to spotlight? That wasn’t a coincidence.
With more than 100 years of experience as one of the world’s best beverage brands, Lipton strives for sustainability in its quest to provide the perfect blend of tea. Lipton is proud of its Rainforest Alliance Certified tea estate in Kericho, Kenya as well as its commitment to world-wide sustainability for Lipton Tea in tea bags by 2015. Tea-based drinks include leaf tea, infusions, ready-to-drink iced tea, and even Keurig K-Cup packs. They’ve recently come out with these cute triangle-shaped tea bags full of flavonoids and long leaf tea. I’m also really fond of the green tea. How about you? What’s your favorite type of Lipton tea?
Disney’s “The Muppets Most Wanted”
“Muppets Most Wanted” takes the entire gang of fuzzy, furry Muppets on a worldwide tour, selling out theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations such as Berlin, London, and Madrid. As with all Muppet adventures, mayhem must ensue. The Muppets find themselves ensnared in an international crime spree headed by Constantine – the World’s Number One Criminal – and, interestingly enough, Kermit the Frog’s twin. The movie stars Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, and Tina Fey. Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted,” opens nationwide March 21, 2014.
“Be More Tea” and Somewhere in the Sand
The “Be More Tea” campaign is the perfect accompaniment to the spirit of Somewhere in the Sand. I think we all should sit back, relax, and take it all in more often. I try to enjoy a tall glass of tea every day. Whether green, black, iced, or freshly brewed and steaming hot, this tiny little leaf-infused drink is sometimes the highlight of my day. It would be even better in a lounge chair by the beach, but hey, we can’t have everything. So, what do you do to “Be More Tea?”
