The Richmond Jazz Festival returns to town August 11-14, 2016

The East Coast’s premier jazz music event, the Richmond Jazz Festival, returns for its seventh year on August 11 – 14, 2016. Events and performances will take place at several Richmond locations, with the main event being held at Maymont on Saturday and Sunday.

Thousands of music lovers from across the country will travel to Richmond for this one-of-a-kind musical experience, and with names like Herbie Hancock, Al Jarreau, The Roots and Morris Day and The Time, the 2016 Richmond Jazz Festival features one of the most impressive line-ups yet.

Presented by Altria, the festival has partnered with Virginia is for Lovers and Dominion as stage sponsors. Other sponsors include Richmond Region Tourism, Pepsi and Virginia Lottery as well as NBC 12, Summit Media and WCVE Public Radio.

  • Hardywood Park Craft Brewery (2408-2410 Ownby Lane, Richmond, VA 23220) – Hardywood Food Truck Rally – free admission

Friday, August 12

  • Hippodrome Theater (528 N. 2nd Street, Richmond, VA 23219) – “Homegrown at the Hipp” – $30 admission
